Ideas On What Make Excellent Not-So-Hidden Hiding Spots by – Steven H LaPhae
I find that the best hidden safe to utilize for concealing your important items isn’t one that sits at the rear of a painting. Those are so cliché that they are almost never considered hidden because every robber knows to look there initially. When I was younger, my parents’ residence was robbed. My father, being quite successful, was targeted by someone who knew to check initially at the rear of the painting in my dad’s den. Though considered state-of-the-art, my dad’s safe was not complicated enough to keep the thief from opening it as well as stealing over $100,000 in cash plus thousands worth of my mother’s jewelry. Now that I’m more mature, I have decided that a regular hiding safe isn’t for me. Besides safety deposit boxes, I utilize diversion safes in my home. These safes are made to look like regular things where thieves won’t ever consider looking through to look for one’s prized possessions. There are a few of these camouflaged safes in my home where I keep money and jewelry. Many of them sit in plain sight yet a filcher would never bother going through them, like the Scotchguard diversion safe that sits on a rack in my mudroom. Another is a Pringles diversion safe that sits in my pantry next to bags of potato chips as well as cereal. Mainly because looters don’t have time to search cupboards nor do they look for snacks during a job, I believed that important family treasures are protected in these types of deceptive containers.
